Dear LISD Parents, Staff, and Community Members,

It is a great time to be a Lockhart Lion! Each day, we learn about new achievements by our #LockhartLeading students, staff, and community, resulting from a culture of high expectations and a commitment to excellence.

Together, we are doing great things, and much of that is rooted in the investment our LISD Board made in being the first in Texas to complete the eXcellence in Governance (XG) training. In doing so, our Trustees learned about the direct impact they have on student achievement. Their intentional and focused leadership serves as the foundation for the incredible growth we have experienced.

In November, we shared with you LISD was selected as one of 14 school district finalists for a 5-year leadership program by The Holdsworth Center. The Center, a leadership institute for Texas public schools, was founded by H-E-B CEO and Chairman Charles Butt. Its aim is to cultivate a pipeline of effective leadership in the school district to ensure a continuity of inspired and dynamic leadership benefitting our students.

We are proud to share that Lockhart ISD was chosen as one of the final six school districts in Texas selected by The Holdsworth Center for the leadership program!  (Click here to read the news release.)

As an organization committed to continuous improvement, we are grateful for this chance to grow. By investing in our teachers, the ones who will benefit most are our amazing students. In doing so, we continue to work towards our vision of building a legacy of excellence.
