On Wednesday, Dec. 2, the CDC announced agency-approved alternatives to the length of quarantines, reducing the number of days of quarantine from close contact exposure to someone with lab-confirmed COVID-19, although the agency maintains the 14-day quarantine as the best way to reduce the risk for the spread of the virus.
After reviewing the CDC-approved alternatives, considering guidance from the Texas Education Agency, and consulting with the Caldwell County Chief Medical Officer, LISD has decided to maintain the recommended 14-day quarantine, especially during a time when cases in the region and across Texas continue to rise.
