USDA Extends Free Meals for Children 18 & Under; High School Students Now Eat Free until 12/30/20

Effective September 8, 2020 through the end of December 2020. We will provide breakfast and lunch for our community’s children 18 and under via curbside and bus routes. Students with disabilities age 21 and under are also eligible to participate. Each campus will have a child nutrition staff member standing outside of each campus with a Grab & Go curbside pickup breakfast and lunch bundle from 10am-12pm.

Simply drive up to the pickup site and staff will hand you meals through the car window. If you need to walk to the campus to pick up meals, you can do so. Please try to keep a safe distance from others who may be walking up to pick up meals as well--at least six feet.

  • Currently, all our Pre-K through 8th grade levels receive free meals year-round. Now, high school students will also be eligible to have their lunch for free through the end of December.

  • Not only will this program change benefit our students, but also benefit our younger children of Lockhart, who are not yet of school age, as they will be eligible to receive free meals. Curbside Campus Locations:

  • Bluebonnet Elementary

  • Clear Fork Elementary

  • Navarro Elementary

  • Plum Creek Elementary

  • Strawn Elementary

  • Junior High School
